Preliminary Results
To provide the first discriminant validity test of this newly constructed emotion dictionary, we tested it on the analyses of religious experiences. Texts on Buddhist and Christian experiences were collected from blogs and newsletters. Fifty texts were collected for each party and each text consisted at least 400 words. The research team checked typos, segmented the texts, and transformed punctuations before the texts were processed by LIWC. The following results confirmed that the dictionary showed satisfactory discriminant validity.
